The Fort Worth Stockyards

My friend Patty and I took 4 boys to the Stockyards today to take the Stamptini Girls merchandise to the store there. I LOVE the Stockyards. This weekend they are having a cowboy convention! I could have stayed all weekend just people watching! My hubby knows I love him more then anything, but I kinda' like cowboys and firemen too! :)

There was lots of action there today.....lots of horses, steer, cowboys and there was a chuck wagon parade. If you are wanting something fun to do some weekend head over to the Stockyards!
Here is a picture of the store where we have a couple items for sale. The name of the store is DePa Designs. They have handmade jewelry and woodworking items. It's a neat little shop!! Stop in if you are ever at the Stockyards!!

Here is a closeup shot of our items in the store.

Where do we get our ideas??

We get our ideas, like most other paper crafters, from various places. Magazines, catalogs, books and friends. The best place for inspiration is splitcoaststampers.com It's an amazing website with fantastic ideas!! We've also taken classes at different Stampin' UP! demonstrators houses and learned different techniques and ideas that way as well.

Check out splitcoaststampers.com Be careful though.....you may spend way more time on that site then you'd like!! :)

Just a quick shout out to our photographer...

...thanks for all the amazing photos! I know one of us loves you! :)

TAGS, GIFT CARD HOLDERS & PURSES

We're adding a class to our calendar. Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 PM. We'll hold the class at Kroger on Preston and Rolator. They have a community area upstairs where there is plenty of room to work. We'll teach you how to make gift tags, a gift card holder and/or this beautiful gift bag. Choose to take part in just one of the demonstrations or all three. There will be three "teachers" to help you. Each one of us will pick a project and teach you how to make it. We'll have three stations set up. You can choose one project or you can do them all.

Project One

The gift tags are a great way to dress up your Christmas presents! We'll make five designs. These were designed by Dunree Filesi with StamptiniGirls! We'll make three of five designs for a total of 15 gift tags! The cost for this class will be $15.00.

Project Two

The gift card holder is a great way to dress up any gift card. These can be used for Holiday gift cards, teacher appreciation gift cards, kids gift cards or any design you'd like. We'll make a holiday gift card holder in this class, which you'll get to take with you. The cost for this class will be $5.00. Make two gift card holders for $10.00 or three for $15.00. This gift card holder was designed by Dunree Filesi with StamptiniGirls.

Project Three

The last gift we'll make is a super cute gift bag made to look like a purse. It is designed by Jan Tink. It can be used as a small scrapbook. These make great gifts for loved ones and they make super teacher gifts. It's made with high quality, thick card stock. The flap "connects" with a magnet. There is plenty of room inside for you to journal with tons of space to add photos. It sits like a purse, but folds out to be a beautiful creation! The one below was cased at splitcoaststampers.com. Ours will be a Christmas Bag. The cost for this class will be $20.00.

This design above was made by Jan Tink.

Email us at stamptinigirls@yahoo.com or call 972-689-2540 to sign up for any of these classes. When signing up let us know which class or classes you are signing up for.

Some of my favorites:

These "Cowboy" coasters are kinda what started it all. I learned how to make the coasters from a Stampin' UP! demonstrator. Once I learned I went a bit nuts with the coasters. I LOVED making these cowboy ones. I had about seven sets of them and they became very popular very quickly. I think it's a Texas thing.......I love Texas and I love creating Texas themed products.

Dunree taught us how to "stamp" on candles and we've also had a blast doing those. We've made so many different kinds. We've made "girlie" ones, snowflake, cowboy and fall candles. We can put just about anything on a candle.

The coasters and candles make great gifts. I've given them as a housewarming gift and they are always a huge hit.

We can also make matching coasters and candles with almost any image.

The cowboy coasters and candles were Clare Nixon's idea and design. It's her favorite set from Stampin' UP!
